Getting To Know The Beaches In Jacksonville, Florida

With a balmy summer coming along, the JJB team confidently speaks for the Jacksonville community when we say – we’re all going to want to hit the beaches this season.

Sure, one can say a beach is a beach but what about the essence?

One can go to Fernandina Beach, then experience a beach 10 miles North, and then feel two totally different kinds of atmospheres.

Jacksonville – to no one’s surprise, has a plethora of different social communities. One of the key words to this list, is essence; meaning, although it’s all sand and water, it’s all about the social environment around the beach.

Every sandy seaside has it’s own unique touch.

JJB presents you – the beaches of Jacksonville.

American Beach

Located not far from Amelia Island – this historic beach is known in the Jacksonville community as one of the few beaches available to African Americans during the time of segregation.

Historic Downtown is also not too far from American Beach if you want a history lesson after a day of sunbathing.

This beach is also the best one for camping.

Jacksonville Beach

Jacksonville Beach is the most known beach in Jacksonville for obvious reasons. Great place to meet new people, bar hop, and socialize.

The quarter-mile Jacksonville Beach Pier is also available making it a great place for fishing with costs $2 for walking and $5 for fishing.

Fernandina Beach

Fernandina is possibly the most family-oriented beach on this list.

This beach is the best for finding shark teeth and shells to add to your collection. As a bonus, Main Street isn’t too far away to enrapture you with a yummy meal after you take a dive in the ocean.

Atlantic Beach

Atlantic Beach is a neat little area with a boardwalk that’s right by Beaches Town Center (not to confuse with St. Johns Town Center) – this is great if you want to grab a bite after a hot day at the coast.

Ponte Vedra Beach

Ponte Vedra Beach is definitely the place for you if you desire a quiet whisper from the waves of the ocean.

This sandy lane is easily the most noiseless beach on this list due to its relatively low population.
